BRIDGING TECHNOLOGY AND CARE
ELADAIS TEAMS UP AT UPM FOR KEY PROJECT MILESTONE
On April 21st, 2025, we held a key project meeting at the Biomedical Technology Center of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), bringing together representatives from TICSmart, UPM, BluSpecs and hospitals Infanta Leonor and La Paz.
The goal? to assess progress on the co-developed digital platform aimed at enhancing care for chronic patients across the two hospitals, each with different implementation paths.
A strategic session for digital innovation in healthcare
This in-person workshop served as a milestone checkpoint for reviewing the status of the platform development in each hospital. It provided space for technical deep dives, feedback, and coordination across all involved parties. TICSmart led the presentations of the current state of the platform and showcased development evidence.
Custom solutions for distinct hospital needs
TICSmart shared updates on the ongoing development of a web application for chronic patients at Hospital Infanta Leonor. The application will integrate with the hospital’s internal systems via an API to provide patients with relevant health information and aid in the appointment booking process, while ensuring data privacy.
At Hospital La Paz, the project aims to provide a modern alternative to a legacy MS Access system used to manage the complete clinical history of HIV patients. The new platform leverages AI to extract data from free-text fields and convert it into structured fields, enabling standardized storage in the platform’s dedicated database.
Aligning efforts, driving results
This technical session helped align development across both hospital implementations, address open questions, and define next actions. Collaboration among all stakeholders remains strong and focused on delivering a platform that can significantly enhance chronic patient care through digital innovation.
