On June 9, 2025, partners from Ticsmart, Hospital Infanta Leonor, Hospital La Paz, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), and BluSpecs gathered at UPM’s Biomedical Center in Madrid for a key coordination meeting of the ELADAIS project, funded under the UNICO I+D Cloud programme.

UNICO I+D PROJECT MEET UP: SHAPING THE FUTURE OF EU COMPETITIVENESS TOGETHER

ELADAIS co-hosted the 2024 UNICO I+D Project Meet Up with the ENABLE 6G project, hosted at the prestigious Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. The UNICO I+D Cloud programme has a programme portfolio made up of 16 projects, and 8 of them are led by institutions and teams all based in the Madrid region.

CLOUD COMPUTING AS A CATALYST FOR HEALTH INNOVATION

With the rising complexity of data-driven healthcare ecosystems and the need for secure, scalable solutions, cloud technologies are no longer optional; they are essential. ELADAIS, an initiative under the UNICO I+D CLOUD programme, is a great example of how cloud infrastructure is being leveraged to create smarter, more resilient, and patient-centred healthcare solutions.

TECHNOLOGY CHANGING HEALTH DATA DISTRIBUTION FOR THE BETTER

Currently, 61% of citizens believe that the national healthcare system lacks the necessary resources and facilities to help foreseeable challenges. Additionally, almost 40% of medical professionals are over 55 years old, and evidence shows that increasing stress levels have led to a rise in healthcare system neglect. Before the introduction of the European Health Data Spaces, the use of health data for research purposes and patient care was inconsistent across different regions.
